Perhaps you've noticed that in my work I don't use colored icings, because I work with colors differently within my original techniques. The exception is gold, which gives gingerbread (perníček) especially for festive occasions or Christmas motifs that perfect touch of elegant luxury.
Gold marbling gives your gingerbread a touch of delicate, tasteful, and elegant luxury.
The prerequisite for a good result is high-quality gold powder (not just metallic) and equally high-quality solvent. Here I strongly advocate for a truly high-percentage alcohol, which is readily available in confectionery supply stores or online. I know that many of you use vodka, for instance, but believe me, with 96% ethanol you'll achieve much better results.
You can work with gold color in two ways:
1. The first is to mix the gold powder with a small amount of solvent and apply it in a continuous layer to the chosen pattern or detail using a thin, soft brush. The result will be the impression of a uniform metallic surface.
2. The effect of gold marbling is achieved through the second method. Thoroughly soak the brush in ethanol, then pick up a tiny amount of gold on its tip and lightly spread it on the chosen area. Because you have more solvent, the fine gold powder will begin to "float" in it and create unique marble effects. Additionally, the strong alcohol evaporates very quickly, so there's no risk of the icing becoming too moist.

Tip for you
You can use gold marbling wherever it suits your artistic sensibility and taste. And it's also entirely up to you whether it will be the dominant decorative effect on the gingerbread or just subtly enhance it.
